Frequently Asked Questions about Boat trips
How many people fit on the boat?
Our boat can accommodate a maximum of 7 people.
Do you need a sailing licence?
No you don't need a sailing licence. Upon departure we will give you instructions on how to maneuver the boat and if needed, sail the first meters with you so you can get used to the boat.
What is the minimum age for rental?
The captain needs to be at least 20 years old.
Can children join on the boat?
Of course! We have sailed many times with children on board. The boat is very stable, but if you feel more comfortable, you can bring your own life jacket.
Is there a sun cover?
We have a bimini (sunroof) on the boat, that you can put up to create shade. You can only put up this bimini when the boat is stationary or outside the city center due to the low bridges.
What routes would you recommend?
When booking with us, we will share our personalised map with
4 routes through The Hague. We can also explain which routes are nice, how long they take, and what you can do and see along the way. This way we always accommodate to your wishes.
Can we book a captain too?
Yes it's possible to book us as your personal captain to join you on board for €100,- extra.
What special regulations should we take into account?
Commercial tourboats have priority in The Hague and the maximum speed is 6 km/hour. Please sail slow when approaching wildlife and houseboats. Take turns at low speed because of limited visibility. When leaving the boat, someone should stay behind so he/she can move the boat out of the way if needed. Also the captain should remain sober.
How does cancellation work?
You can cancel up to 24 hours prior to the booking.
What happens with bad weather?
If the weather conditions are not suitable for boating, we can always help you reschedule your booking.
Are there any toilet stops on the route?
Yes, we have added toilet stops along the routes in our personal Google Maps you will receive when booking.
How does it work with insurance and deposit?
Prior to your booking, we ask for a €200,- deposit to pay upfront (cash or via bank transfer). You will receive this back after returning the boat in the same condition.
In case of damage, you are liable for the repair costs. You are responsible for arranging your own liability insurance if desired.
What should we do in case something goes wrong during our trip?
During the booking we are always available to help if needed. Just give us a call and we head to your location.
Is boating difficult?
Not at all! Our boats are very easy to steer and are perfect for beginners. Before departure we give a short explanation so you can feel comfortable operating the boat. Most guests get the hang of it within a few minutes.
